CHUWI Challenges 1KG High-End Lightweight Laptops with New CoreBook Air Series Starting Around $500

The premium thin-and-light laptop category—led by devices like the Huawei MateBook X Pro and Honor MagicBook Art 14—has steadily climbed into the $1,000+ bracket. CHUWI is charting a different path with its new CoreBook Air series, bringing a 1 kg–class design at just around $500.

Positioned as a strong alternative to the MacBook Air, CHUWI says the series will be the world’s most affordable 14-inch and 16-inch laptops in this weight class. Despite the aggressive pricing, the company stresses that it has preserved the essential features typically trimmed in this segment, aiming to deliver a well-rounded, capable user experience.

Featherlight Design. Next-Level Power.

Crafted from aluminum alloy, the CoreBook Air weighs just 1KG and features a 14-inch 16:10 WUXGA (1920×1200) IPS display with 100% sRGB color gamut. Its sibling, the CoreBook Air Plus, offers an expansive 16-inch screen of the same superior resolution in a chassis weighing 1.35KG and measuring just 16.3mm thin. Both models feature vibrant, slim-bezel IPS displays for an immersive experience in work and entertainment.
